Do you ship directly to my location?
For the larger items, the freight company will call you to set up a delivery time and make sure that you’re able to accommodate the delivery.
For the smaller items, a postal service will deliver them directly to your door.
What is the Liftgate option?
You will notice on our checkout page that there is an option for a Liftgate. You can choose to pay for this service where the freight company will unload the whole pallet with ease.
OR you can choose not to have this option and you will need to open the pallet/box and unload your items one panel at a time. (Sometimes the truck will have a liftgate even if you did not order it)
How many people does it take to assemble the chicken coops?
It works best if there are at least 2 people
Can I keep chicken’s year round?
Absolutely! The OverEZ Chicken Coops are designed for all climates. Unlike a lot of other coops on the market that don’t have floors, our coops have a floor and sits up off the ground.
Do I need electricity to run my Automatic Chicken Door?
No you do not need electricity to run the Automatic Chicken Door. You can also run these doors with batteries.
Do I need to purchase and install my Options at the time of assembling my OverEZ Chicken Coop?
No. We have designed all of our Options to be added at any time.
For example, if you buy a OverEZ Chicken Coop and later decide you would like to make your coop mobile, our OverEZ Chicken Coop Wheels can be purchased and added to the chicken coop at any time.
The OverEZ Automatic Chicken Door is designed to fit the openings of all of our coops so that it can be added at any time.
The Rugged Ranch Chicken Runs have an adaptor that is designed specifically for the OverEZ Chicken Coops. If you purchase a Rugged Ranch Run separately from us, it will not fit the OverEZ Chicken Coop. You will need to modify it accordingly.
Will I be able to get this chicken coop in my backyard?
Yes! The beautiful thing about the OverEZ Chicken Coops is that they come in a kit with panels. All panels and trim are painted and assembled, all hardware is installed, doors & windows are installed, nesting boxes are assembled and metal is installed on the roof panel. All panels can be carried into the location of your choice and assembled there.
Can I choose a different color or can I re-paint the chicken coop?
At this time we do not offer any custom colors for the OverEZ Chicken Coops, HOWEVER, these chicken coops can easily be re-painted to the colors of your choice.
Are the floors treated?
YES, the subfloor that we use has a treated resin in it. This helps with the excess moisture that chickens naturally produce.
How do I clean my chicken coop?
Our chicken coops do not come with trays because they would be too large and clumsy to carry around to dump them.
This is what we recommend for cleaning:
Put a bucket at the man door and use a broom or scraper to sweep out the dung/straw/shavings into the bucket. This works really well because our coop sits off the ground and you can place the bucket against the floor and scrape it right in.
If you want to do a thorough cleaning every 6-12 months, you can open up the chicken door and stand at the man door and hose it out with water.
Do I need to set my chicken coop on blocks?
No. The chicken coop runners are pressure treated and can easily sit on grass, dirt, or gravel. If the ground is out of level, we recommend either making the surface level or putting blocks on the corners that need to be made level.
What is the silver stuff on the ceiling of my OverEZ Chicken Coop?
It is a radiant barrier to keep the chicken coop cooler in the summer. It does not serve as an insulation.
If I live in a cold climate, do I need to insulate my chicken coop?
The feedback that we’ve received from our Customers is NO.
Chickens do create their own body heat which makes the chicken coop warm. The OverEZ Chicken Coop is fully enclosed. If you insulate it, it makes the coop entirely too stuffy. If it gets too cold, we do sell an electrical/heat package that can add extra heat, if necessary.
If I live in a hot climate, how do I keep the chicken coop cool?
We have a few things built into the chicken coop that helps. All windows open and close with screens, vents on each end, and radiant barrier sheathing on the ceiling. If your chicken coop continues to be too warm, you can always install the OverEZ electrical package and mount a small fan on the wall.
What kind of ventilation does the chicken coop have?
There are two vents on each high side of the gable ends to allow air flow. Every window also opens and closes with a screen.
