Over All Happy with the Coop

LOVE THIS COOP! We purchased on-line thru a farm store (Farm House Coop - size Large). Delivery was quick and crate arrived with minimal damage. Decided to prime, caulk, and paint inside of the coop prior to assembly (ECOS Gloss Pet Dwelling Paint). We were cautious not to double coat where walls met. Living in the South, we added a 10-inch exhaust fan on the man-door side of the coop. We also cut 7 ventilation windows spread out on the remaining three sides of the coop at roof line level. Assembly of the coop was somewhat of a challenge due to our age (60+ and nesting box wall was very heavy). and the provided drill bit kept striping out the screws. In addition, some of the pre-drilled screws were missing or pre-drilled screws were not drilled straight. We finally purchased 4-inch deck screws and assembly went much better. When putting on the nest box wall, it was very confusing if the inside nesting box sat flush on the edge of the board attached to the floor or over hung and inch over the board. One assembly video said flush and the others, it was unclear. The paper instructions we received with the coop showed what looked like an overhang, but the picture was too small to be definitive. We ended up having the one-inch overhang, because we could not get it flush. Would recommend a separate video on just the roof assembly. It would be nice to see how the roof panels should actually sit on top the walls from the outside (front, back, and sides) and inside. It is unclear from the videos if the black soffit sits in front of the front outside wall or sits on top the front outside wall. Would recommend putting electrical package in prior to putting on the roof (with exception of heat lamp that attaches to rafters) due to the electrical boxes coming with nails and not screws as was shown in OverEZ assembly video. There is not enough room to hammer in the nails. We also ordered the ventilation door, but found the kit missing two eye hooks, and two single eye screws. It took us two days to assemble the coop, but are very pleased with the coop itself. We ended up painting the outside of the coop with the ECOS paint as well due to our Southern sun. Overall would recommend the coop.

Legacy Coop

I’ve had my OverEZ Farmhouse Large Coop for 4 years now, and it’s still going strong. My last coop only lasted 6 months, so the difference is HUGE. OverEZ Coops are absolutely worth the money! I’d buy one over and over again—though I probably won’t need to for another 15 years.

Great quality

Great quality, solid instructions for assembly, pre-drilled feature is fantastic, looks great. Tiny cans of paint for touch up a wonderful bonus :)

So far so good, pretty impressed

Delivery was great, the company contacted me a week before and left a voicemail with a delivery date that didn't work. I simply called the number they left and we came up with a good solution and while they could t guarantee the time frame they put a request in to call 30 minutes before arrival and allowed enough time for my husband to get home to receive the delivery. It was packaged well (probably took more time to unbox than to assemble, honestly) and everything came together nicely. My girls are happy gals!

Thank you for the great feedback, Ray! We are thrilled to hear that your experience with us was such a positive one. We hope you and your flock enjoy your chicken coop for many years to come! :)
